SEND Exam Invigilators / Exam Access Arrangement Facilitators

Immediate Start / Casual / Zero-hour Contract

£8.49 per hour (pay award pending)

 

 

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to assist and support special educational needs students who have been granted exam access arrangements for their GCSE examinations. The post requires flexibility as the working hours will vary according to the demands on the examination timetable for this spring and summer season.

 

As a SEND Exam Invigilator / facilitator you will need excellent communication and organisational skills. Successful applicants will be able to develop a good working relationship with these students in order provide effective support. The role will also entail 1:1 support of students, either as an examination reader and as a designated scribe. Therefore, GCSE or O Level English as well as legible handwriting and good ICT skills are desired for this role.

 

Full training will be given in advance of the examinations, however, experience of invigilating examinations or similar activities would be advantageous.

 

Exam Invigilators ensure fair and proper conduct and are able to follow the strict guidelines laid out by all national examination boards used at the College. As well as enforcing these guidelines in internal practice exams, you will work closely with both the Exam’s Officer and Access Arrangements Officer.

The post has come about by the current Faculty Leader wishing to step down from a middle leadership position to focus on their classroom teaching which is their passion. We are taking the opportunity to add to the capacity of the senior leadership team and develop further the College’s vision and provision for the more able throughout the College. Therefore, this is a new and exciting post.

 

The faculty consists of nine mathematicians and one business studies teacher. Each teacher has their own specialist classroom and all of the rooms are located in a bespoke mathematics area. Currently the faculty follow the EDEXCEL syllabus at GCSE and A level.

 

The position requires excellent understanding of improvement strategies, with the ability to manage change and to motivate staff towards achieving clear and ambitious goals. Above all, you will possess a relentless drive to raise standards for our students.
