ASC Provision Level 4 – Teaching Assistant

33.75 hours per week – 39 weeks per year (8.15am – 3.30pm)

Grade F – £20,660 – £22,658 (actual pay £16,320 to £18,254)

The College wish to appoint a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join the Learning Support Team. You will need experience working with SEND students, and ideally, experience with working and supporting those students, who are on the Autistic Spectrum. You will work, as part of a team, in our Enhanced Provision area of Brixham College predominately, but will be expected to support students in their mainstream lessons as well.

The Enhanced provision provides autistic students an additional support area that provide a wraparound package of reducing their barriers to learning, as well as developing their own social and emotional skills and resilience. This will mean that you have a calm, patient manner, and have the ability to make students feel at ease. You will need to be energetic, good humored and resilient in this demanding, but rewarding role. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to be creative, positive and highly motivated.

Brixham College Enhanced Provision as well as the main college itself, is an extremely popular choice for parents to send their sons and daughters to, from across the bay. The provision just like the mainstream college, fills all available places year on year with active waiting lists. You will also join the college at an exciting time as it continues to develop its community ethos and cultural. The Provision itself is also developing its offer to the student’s allocated places here, and look forward to the appointment of this new person to continue to build and adapt the support and experiences we can offer to our students in every year. .
