Adult & Community Learning (Acl)

South Devon College has ACL centres in Paignton, Brixham and Torquay. In Brixham we are lucky enough to be based in a purpose built section of Brixham College and consider ourselves a small part of a great school, a part that parents can access for studies of their own. ACL offers part time courses and workshops for adults of all ages, covering a big range of subjects; everything from art, crafts and computing to languages. We even offer FREE English and maths for those who want to brush up their skills.

People enrol on our courses for all sorts of reasons including taking up a hobby, learning something they have always wanted to try, catching up on something they like doing and want to learn more of, making new friends and improving their prospects. Whatever the reason, we aim to make learning productive, inspiring and enjoyable.

The ACL prospectus comes out annually in August with an update available at Easter so if you want to do something different or learn something new, contact us for a copy ; call in and see us, telephone 01803 853302 or email

The ACE charity for disabled adult learners is also housed here. Part of their activities involves maintaining the productive and award winning ACE garden. If you would like to find out more about ACE please telephone the ACL number or look on our website
